These Terms govern your use of PowerLab (powerlab.marinepowerlab.com), operated by MarinePowerLab. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
PowerLab is an engineering-input tool for marine, RV, and off-grid electrical system design. It calculates load profiles, battery sizing, solar sizing, wire gauge, voltage drop, and overcurrent protection per ABYC E-11 and NEC reference values, and it generates documentation in formats expected by inspectors and electricians.
PowerLab is not a substitute for a licensed electrician, marine surveyor, or AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction). The final installed system must be stamped, inspected, and signed off by qualified humans. PowerLab's outputs are engineering inputs, not as-built drawings or permits.
You must be 18+ and provide accurate information. You're responsible for keeping your password safe. Don't share accounts. We may suspend accounts for abuse, payment failure, or material breach of these terms.
Pro, Pro Plus, Installer, and Fleet Standard are recurring subscriptions billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; service continues to the end of the paid period. We don't pro-rate refunds for partial months. One-time purchases (e.g. the $59 Permit-Ready Report) are non-refundable once delivered.
Prices are in CAD unless noted. Tax is added at checkout where applicable. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice for existing subscribers; renewals at the new price honor the notice window.
You own the projects, designs, and quotes you create. We don't use your project data to train AI models. You grant us a limited license to host, render, transmit, and back up your content as necessary to operate the service.
If you make a project public via the share link, you authorize anyone with the link to view it. Public-listing on the installer directory is opt-in.
The PowerLab Co-Pilot uses Anthropic's Claude models. Inputs you send to Co-Pilot are processed by Anthropic and may be retained briefly per their policies. Don't send confidential data to Co-Pilot.
Stripe handles payments. SiteGround/Vercel host the site. Supabase hosts the database. Each has its own privacy and security posture; see our Privacy Policy.
Don't: scrape the site, abuse the API beyond rate limits, share account credentials, attempt to circumvent paywalls, upload malicious content, harass other users, impersonate others, or use PowerLab to design systems that violate applicable codes.
The service is provided "as is." Engineering values, ampacity tables, derating factors, and standards references are sourced from ABYC E-11, NEC, and CSA C22.1 and are believed accurate at publication, but standards change. Always verify critical values against your current edition of the applicable code and consult a licensed professional for the installed system.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of PowerLab is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or CAD $100, whichever is greater). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including damage to vessels, vehicles, batteries, or installed equipment — even if we've been advised of the possibility.
You can delete your account at any time from the billing page. We can terminate for breach of these terms with reasonable notice. Your project data is retained for 30 days after deletion in case of accidental termination, then permanently removed.
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes are resolved in the courts of British Columbia, except either party may bring small-claims actions in their local jurisdiction.
We'll post material changes here and email subscribers with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date counts as acceptance.
